A Stunning & Original Time Warp 1954 Hillman Minx Finished in Green with Tan interior.
The car was supplied by Slade Brothers, Motor Engineers, Sidmouth, Devon to its first owner, Mr G C Croft on 8th June 1954. Mr Croft was a fastidious owner who never used the car in poor weather, covering only about 29,154 miles between 1954 and 1983. There is an MOT Certificate from October 2003 showing 29,154 miles. It is believed that Mr Croft gave up driving in late 1983 and the car was then unused for five years until it was purchased by Dr J H Howells in 1988. Dr Howells was a classic car collector who kept the vehicle garaged, but barely drove it in his 14 years of ownership, selling it to the Windmill Collection in late 2002 with a mileage of 29,510, again shown on an MOT Certificate.
The car was purchased from Windmill in May 2003 by its present registered keeper and they provided a new MOT Certificate showing 29,609 miles.
Since then, it has rarely been used apart from a few runs out with a local classic car club to. The car has an MOT to 12th May 2010 and the current mileage is 30,374.
The car carries its original registration number of
RTA 727. Four new Avon cross ply tyres were fitted about 300 miles ago. The brakes were overhauled for MOT, and the car received an oil change at the same time.
